You've opened the tavern's doors and they creak closed. Inside, the air shifts to that of warmth with blended smells of beer and other fine beverages. A crowd of people scatter around the place and with it, their voices ring around the tavern. This complements the sound of drinks that attaches itself to the echoing ambience. As you walk up to the bar you notice someone stealing a coin purse from a hand quick like a wind. However, your eyes catch it and see that the hand belongs to a thief who is sitting down with a group that are likely thieves themselves.
You can tell that they're planning something and it somewhat intrigues you.

</div>You’ve wandered around and immersed yourself to everything around you. There are still people walking by but as time went on, they slowly vanish from the streets as the sun rests down into the horizon. The city is turning into a void but the surrounding torches filled the empty dark, guiding your way. As the lights guide you, you hear a scream and suddenly someone ran past you and another one too, although the latter has a knife gripped on his hand. Thoughts were circling around in your head whether to save that person who is running from a potential murderer, or to leave things be as you don’t want to tangle yourself in such matters that don’t concern you.

As you listen closely you hear the following from these pesky thieves:
"So when should we rob that tomb?" one thief asks
"Perhaps tomorrow night, but keep your voice down somebody might hear us"
"Alright tomorrow night" he whispers "but before we go, how much do we know about the tomb?"
"Legend has it that its the final resting place of a legendary king named Rexfur with this city as his capital"
"This place? Really? I've never would've imagined"
"It was, 200 years ago, hard to believe it myself and to think that this city was once worthy to be considered a capital. It is said that he wore a mask imbued with magic and this mask is buried within his tomb"
"Hmmm, there are rumours that he was also a thief right?"
"A thief? How can a king be a thief?"
"Such legends are hard to believe. But I suppose there's a bit of truth to that"
"Enough talk, I sense someone is watching us"
"What?!"
They suddenly notice you, and you quickly turn your head nervously pretending that there's nothing to be seen. Soon after, a hand lands on your shoulder and the thief asks:
"I know you've heard us so don't play dumb"
An instant chill of regret fills you, and you wish that you didn't listen earlier. However, the thief has more to say:
"I can't afford someone knowing our plans so I'll give you two options. Either you join with us or be silenced tomorrow.

You've ignored the thieves that are chattering nearby and instead, go up to the bar and sit down. You order a mug of beer and chug it down, filling yourself with freshness and warmth, although its a bit sour as usual. As the mug is emptied, a man beside you has something to say:
"You seem to be new around here, how about a drinking contest?"
Although you are quite hesitant, he interrupts.
"You know I've fallen into some hard times and
I want someone to drink with me to raise my spirits. I'll pay for
the drinks of course but hey, free drinks.
So what do you say?"

</div>It is midnight. The skies are dark and barely any stars illuminate the sky. You're in a graveyard and within that graveyard is a tomb that stands out from the stones that surround it. The ghastly wind gives an aura of a shared voice that are buried here and although it doesn't speak directly, your soul knows that you shouldn't be here but regardless you have to move forward or else death awaits you here. The thieves give you a sword to protect yourself and you follow
the shadows like them. As you enter the tomb there is a door
that goes underground and although locked tight, the thieves
open it with ease. As you walk into the tomb, the dead
wake from their slumber and one of them is about
to slash his sword.

A group of undead are slain. As you go deeper into the tomb you and the thieves stumble upon a passage which then reveals another secret passage that has revealed itself from the collapsing stones. The thieves then quietly discuss their options:
"So, which way?"
"Hmm, there are 6 of us so lets choose and split up"
Half of them chose to either to go to the secret passage or to the main one. The thieves urge you to choose...

As you enter the secret passage, a trap is triggered. The floors are falling revealing the spikes underneath. You run, run, run, running from the death that will cling to you as you fall. Heavy breathing intensifies and you've made it into the end of the passage as the sole survivor. Going back now is impossible as the floor is gone and in its place are spikes that protrude upwards begging for a victim. The only way out is the lever puzzle before you and near it is an inscription.
It reads: the year that trumps all.

It is morning and your eyes blur as you open them. You're lying on the side of the street and tiredness flows through you as if the soul left you. You feel something on your left hand and see that its a note that provides a clue to what happened. As you slowly gain strength to stand on your feet, a city guard comes up and arrests you. Soon after that, you're wearing a barrel and you walk. A walk that is so retarded and so laughable that every
passer-by just stares at you, amused by the fact that you're being punished for
being drunk. At times they push you over to get a bit of laugh and
some even throw dung at you to amuse themselves with your own
misfortune. This continues on for a day and the guards finally
releases you from such a display.
You then realise that almost everything you have is missing
but at the very least you still have your clothes on.
You take out the note from your left hand and it reads:
" Meet me in the alley near the tavern.
Don't worry your stuff is safe with me
and I'll tell you everything that happened.

You've followed what the note says and see someone, familiar. It was the man that you drank with; leaning on the wall expecting someone which is you. The man then look towards you and says:
"Well, I've been expecting you and you seem to be alright. Well not entirely,
but you were fun last night gave me quite laugh
that I haven't had for a long time"
Your thoughts have been circling around your head.
Trying to find in your head the faintest memories of what really happened.
After a very short pause, the man utters.
"I expected as much that you won't remember, but what you did is really
quite a night to remember. The drinks were damn heavy you know and I did
something special to the beer that you drank. What happened is that we went out
and stole a lot of cheese from a cheese shop and you ate it all, like literally
ate it all. Not only that, you've wrecked the place as if it was looted to the ground.
Luckily, no one was there to spot us and we quickly went
elsewhere"
You put your hand near your mouth and puff the air. The smell of your breath is
cheesy and gaps of your memory slowly resurface. You then question what he put
on your beer.
"Well it's my own drug you see and I was testing it on you.
I thank you for your co-operation. Now, I should get into more details of what
happened let's see, oh yeah, we kinda parted ways but I kept watch on you and
you've ended up into some brothel. After that, well.. I can't remember,
it's hazy but in the end you ended up in the streets. It was fun though"
You then question where your missing belongings and he then replies.
"No, you won't get them back unless you do something more for me in return.
I want you to find someone and bring him or her to me. Simply turn someone
into a drunkard and also put this test drug to the test.
If you refuse to do this, I'll make sure that you're knocked out cold.

You walk through the tavern's doors and the place is the same as usual. All talks here and there and the aroma of fine beverages spreading around. Your eyes kept moving left and right to see someone suitable enough to drink enough and soon enough, you found your victim. The one that you found is sitting in a bar stool and he's drinking away all the sorrows of life. You went to the bar sitting beside him and bought two mugs of beer; one for you and one for the man next to you.
After he drinks a whole mug of beer, he says:
"Ahhh, I thank you for this drink. A drink warms the soul when one falls into
hard times, and people like you giving me a free drink is a friend of my mine"
You then told him that you're gonna buy more and you request him to a
drinking contest.
"You wanna test me huh? Well then, I accept your challenge"
While waiting for the drinks to be served, you sneakily move your
hand to get the drug;planning to either drug the beer once it's served
or drug the beer while the man is really high drinking during the
drink contest. While thinking this through, you decide to...

As the two passer-bys passed, you instantly chase after them with haste. The sounds of your feet thudding to the ground, grew louder and louder. Loud enough for the murderer to hear it. The murderer looked back at you and with a knife on his hand, he prepares for the attack. But before he does he utters:
"You dare mess with me huh? Well you'll regret it 'cus you'll end up dead. You hear me? Dead!"
There were malice and a slight of annoyance in that voice. Soon after, he charged towards
you and as the blade came close, you've step to the other direction
and the murderer then swings his blade wildly and maniacally,
as if he let animal inside him burst free. Although you've
received a few minor cuts, the murderer somehow hurts himself
in turn and stops in his tracks; dropping the dagger.
Seeing this, you've quickly got hold of the weapon and held it
with your two hands near your body, pointing at the one attacking
you.
The murderer then charged wildly once more and before you knew
it, he is dead.
Startled, you've looked on his corpse that is slightly lifted by
the blade that you hold. You then let go of it and the corpse thuds
to the ground as if the puppet's strings were cut.
You then looked onward and saw the one who was running from
the murderer.
It was a girl, roughly in her twenties. You then spoke to her,
still terrified but had the courage enough to thank you.
You then talked further of what just transpired and reveals
that there have been recent murders every night and
there's a group of people investigating this. She goes into
detail that this group is from the Adventurer's Guild and
tells you where they are.

Usually, guild members don't really interfere with the city's problems but there are problems that do get out of hand to the point that it becomes a quest worth a lot of coin. You went inside the guild building and went up to the counter where they recruit new adventurers. Behind the counter is a guild manager in her thirties and you ask her where a particular group of adventurers are. She answers:
"Well, they are here right now and if you want to get involve with their quest, you have to join our guild. That way, things are more convenient for you. So would you like to join?"
You agreed to join the guild since you see how it's beneficial to you in the long run.
The manager then questions why you decided to investigate this. You explained what happened last night in vivid detail where you saved someone from getting stabbed to death and how you somehow killed the murderer by stealing his knife. As she hears your bravery, she then says:
"Sounds like you're more than worthy to join this guild. But with training, you may
climb up the ranks depending on the deeds that you've done. Anyways, I'll show you where they are. Follow me"
You follow her and as you followed, you then enter the room where the adventurers are. The guild manager explains who you are and your intentions and the adventurers welcomes you in open arms:
"You're quite brave to save someone like that. Allows us to introduce ourselves, my name is Fios and other four here are Ronve, Dale, Nix, and Vey"
After a few minutes of introductions, the leader of the group, Fios, reveals the details of the plan by pointing something on a map that is laying on the table.
"We're all gonna go to this place tonight and we're going there because the next murder will be there. It took awhile to figure it out and these murders are all planned which means it has a pattern to them"
"Aye, the investigation has gone long enough. We have to catch one murderer and end this once and for all!" Nix exclaims
"Well then, lets get prepared then and head out" Ronve muttered
The city's streets is a vast void and petty torch lights lit up the forms. You follow a group of adventurers and saw someone odd that just passed by. You then told the adventurers about it and short whispers followed. They told you to stand by and don't lose sight of the potential murderer, while they prepare to capture. However, you have something else in mind which is to sneakily go close and capture.

anything wrong to be locked in a cell. You looked around the cell and
there seems to be a guard but the guard himself doesn't look like a
city guard and you realise that you're in grave danger of starving to
death in these cold cells. You think of ways to escape but the guard is in the way
and at times he's not. Luckily, there's a hidden lockpick in the cell and pick up
the only hope you have.

His deathly eyes gaze at you and it's gaze alone, shivers you in fear.
The King then charges at you, and you fly around the burial chamber; dodging his attacks. The power of each attack can be sensed back at you, and its power feels a lot more closely with your left hand. A hand that holds the mask. As the undead king swings his blade at you, you then block it with your sword and stagger. Shortly after your escape, you were then laying on the ground with the pool of your own blood. You died.

As you put your ears close, you hear the following:
"Murdering is fun, isn't it? And things are going quite smoothly although a few minor setbacks"
"Forgive me that I poor memory but why are we all doing this again?"
"It's part of the ritual and it has already started as we speak"
"What's this ritual?"
"Well, as far as I know, it's necromancy and every kill is progress"
"Hmmm ok, but how many do we have to kill?"
"Not sure exactly but as soon as we have enough victims, we as a dark guild
will rule this city like our own.
And once we do, we all become immortal or undead. Either way, it's all for power.
Now let's get to the plans"
After you hear everything, you then escaped and exposed the evil plans to the guild.
In response, the guild members gathered up for a joint operation to wipe this evil
guild out from the city. Somehow, you were leading the attack and the
intense fight wipes out a guild full of murderers.
You were then hailed as a hero and as a hero, your new life has just
begun.

You decided to forget what just happened and went into the tavern to see if there's anything, and there is. A bunch of thieves that you saw earilier are still planning something and you see the oppurtunity as you listen silently:
"So when should we rob that tomb?" one thief asks
"Perhaps tomorrow night, but keep your voice down somebody might hear us"
"Alright tomorrow night" he whispers "but before we go, how much do we know about the tomb?"
"Legend has it that its the final resting place of a legendary king named Rexfur with this city as his capital"
"This place? Really? I've never would've imagined"
"It was, 200 years ago, hard to believe it myself and to think that this city was once worthy to be considered a capital. It is said that he wore a mask imbued with magic and this mask is buried within his tomb"
"Hmmm, there are rumours that he was also a thief right?"
"A thief? How can a king be a thief?"
"Such legends are hard to believe. But I suppose there's a bit of truth to that"
"Enough talk, I sense someone is watching us"
"What?!"
They suddenly notice you, and you quickly turn your head nervously pretending that there's nothing to be seen. Soon after, a hand lands on your shoulder and the thief asks:
"I know you've heard us so don't play dumb"
An instant chill of regret fills you, and you wish that you didn't listen earlier. However, the thief has more to say:
"I can't afford someone knowing our plans so I'll give you two options. Either you join with us or be silenced tomorrow.
